ABOUT CHARLIE JAMES
Charlie James is a 30-year radio veteran with numerous broadcasting awards to his credit including three South Carolina Broadcasters (SCBA) Star Award for Radio Show of the Year (2019, 2016, 2007), Best News Talk Show of the Year (2018), and The Academy of Country Music (ACM) Award for Radio Personality of the Year, as well as two Marconi Award Nominations.
Currently, Charlie is the Afternoon Host at Greenville’s 106.3 WORD from 3-7pm. Charlie’s ability to listen and comment with caring, common sense and humor has earned him a loyal audience, working tirelessly to bring his listeners the latest news and information that directly affects them.
When he’s not behind the microphone at WORD Charlie is a voice-over artist who can be heard on many commercials, corporate presentations, and audio books. He is also enjoys acting in front of a camera or on stage, for many years he was a recurring cast member at The Black Fedora Comedy Mystery Theatre entertaining tourists and locals alike at their intimate theatre in the historic district in downtown Charleston, SC.
Originally from Augusta, Georgia, Charlie James had made both Columbia and Charleston his home during his broadcasting career, until his recent and happy move to Greenville, SC.
